Taste the Wild Cookies: Labrador Tea leaf Cookies
-1 cup butter melted
-3 tablespoons of Labrador tea leaves
-2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
-½ teaspoon baking soda
-½ teaspoon salt
-¾ cup granulated sugar
-¾ cup packed brown sugar
-1-2 tbsp fine ground Labrador Tea leaves
-2-3 tablespoons of milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Place butter in pot. Add whole Labrador tea leaves.
Let simmer on low for 15 min to infuse the Labrador tea taste into the butter.
Remove from heat, strain out leaves.
Add butter to mixing bowl.
Add sugars and stir well.
Add egg and mix well.
Add dry ingredients and mix.
Note: Use 1 tablespoon of fine ground Labrador Tea leaves for a more subtle flavor, or use 2 Tablespoons for a more intense flavor (or use 1.5 tbsp for a flavor in between).
Add milk one tablespoon at a time until cookie dough consistency has formed.
Place spoonfuls of dough onto cookies sheets and bake at 350 for 12 minutes or until done.
